Fisker Karma
2010 FISKER KARMA: Fisker Karma is the first product of Fisker Automotive to hit the road. The four-door four passenger plug-in series hybrid features a combo of a General Motors 2.0 liter turbo 4 rated at 260-hp which powers a generator which in turn charges batteries that drive the rear wheels through two electric motors, making a total of 403 horsepower. There are two driving modes: Stealth drive for quiet operation and Sport drive for rapid acceleration. The latter claims a 0-60 of under 6 seconds. Paddles on the steering wheel determine the mode. A top speed of 95 mph is given for Stealth and 125 for the Sport setup. Sleek coupe-like styling and wood trimmed luxurious interior boasting ecological features like EcoGlass and Bamboo Viscose seating surfaces carry the theme beyond the drivetrain. Henrik Fisker spent over 18 years in automotive design with the BMW Z8, Aston Martin DE9 and V8 Vantage among his credits. He launched Fisker Automotive to design and build eco friendly high end performance cars.
