2015 INFINITI Q70 HYBRID: A refined exterior, revised interior and additional available technology enable the 2015 Infiniti Q70 Hybrid to live-up to its title as the true luxury performance “driver’s” hybrid. At the heart of the Q70 Hybrid is a front-engine, rear-wheel drive layout based around an innovative Infiniti Direct Response Hybrid one-motor, two-clutch parallel hybrid system. The electric motor is rated at 50 kW (67-hp). It acts as either a propulsion unit, alone or in tandem with the V-6, or as a power generator. The proven 302-horsepower 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V-6 was chosen for torque characteristics (258 lb-ft) that perfectly complement the electric motor’s output. It combines with the electric motor and high-power battery to produce 360 horsepower (hybrid system net power). Infiniti kept weight in check in the Q70 Hybrid by lightweight batteries, single electric motor, and no torque converter. The weight gain over the non-hybrid Q70 has been kept down to less than 275 pounds. The batteries are located behind the rear seat, yet the Q70 Hybrid’s practical luggage room is able to accommodate four golf bags or two large suitcases. The Q70 Hybrid’s revised exterior includes new front and rear fascias, new grille design, Infiniti signature LED headlights, LED taillights, LED fog lights and side rearview mirrors with integrated LED turn signals. Three new exterior colors have also been added for 2015: Hermosa Blue, Chestnut Bronze and Graphite Shadow. A special premium Pearl finish is also available with the Moonlight White exterior. The 2015 Infiniti Q70 Hybrid also includes revised interior content and trim, with leatherette replacing leather-appointed seating (leather-appointed seating is available with the Premium Package). Other changes include revised 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheel designs and the availability of Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection (MOD) and Forward Emergency Braking (FEB).
