2016 ASTON MARTIN DB9 GT VOLANTE: On display at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show is the DB9 GT Volante, the Aston Martin that transforms from a closed GT into convertible. The roof opens or closes in 14-seconds and at speeds of up to 30-mph. As the newest generation, the DB9 GT Volante is equipped with the magnificent 5.9-liter V-12 generates 540-horsepower and comes connected to an all-new, fast-shifting eight-speed Touchtronic automatic transmission with electronic shift-by-wire control system.  The gearbox offers four driving modes: Drive, Drive-Sport, Paddle and Paddle Sport, and can shift gears in just 130-milliseconds. The Volante powertrain is capable of 183-mph and covers 0-60-mph in 4.4-seconds, yet with much improved fuel efficiency. To cut weight, the DB9 GT Volante utilizes extruded bonded aluminum, magnesium alloy and composite materials, resulting in a remarkable 30% increase in rigidity and 33-pounds lighter over previous models. Within the luxurious 2+2 cabin is a flowing center console, a range of leather and quilting options, tactile materials that blend with fully integrated navigation, 1000 watt Bang & Olufsen audio and touch-sensitive glass switches that control the latest generation Ami (Aston Marin Infotainment) and a retractable 6.5-inch LCD screen embedded into the center stack. A base MSRP of $213,250 is the ticket to own this British-built super car at the Chicago Show.
