Chevrolet Sonic
2016 CHEVROLET SONIC: Chevrolet's popular Sonic subcompact is built in America; comes in two body styles: a four-door sedan and a five-door hatchback in LS, LT, LTZ and RS levels. For 2016, the power to the front wheels is supplied by Ecotec four-cylinder engines, both generating 138 horsepower. The 1.4-liter turbo comes with the six-speed manual while the 1.8L can be equipped with a five-speed gearbox. A six-speed automatic is an option on both powerplants, and all trannies feature aggressive final-drive ratios. Starting this model year, the automatic transmission is now standard on the top-tier Sonic LTZ model. The Sonic exterior styling incorporates raked body lines, motorcycle-inspired round head, and taillights, rear door handles in C-pillar (five-door), and wheels-at-the-corners proportions for a distinctive appearance. Standard and available items include a rear vision camera, MyLink radio, forward collision and lane departure alert systems, tilt-sliding sunroof, rear decklid spoiler and front fog lamps. Sonic delivers three new exterior colors - Nightfall Gray, Mosaic Black and Kinetic Blue, all metallic paint for a fresh, updated appearance. Sonic models seat five passengers and come equipped with OnStar that uses GPS and cellular phone technology. Other check list items include MyLink with Apple's Siri Eyes Free for customers with a compatible iPhone running iOS6, as well as apps for BringGo in-dash navigation; TuneIn, which provides access to 70,000 global radio stations; and apps for Pandora internet radio and Stitcher Smart Radio. The tailored cargo space provides 14.9-cu.ft. in the Sedan and up to 47.7-cu. ft. with the rear seat folded flat on the hatchback.
