The Clubman competes with other boxy hatchbacks such as the Fiat 500L and Kia Soul.The base engine for the Clubman is a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder that makes 134 horsepower and is available with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 189 horsepower is available, and the John Cooper Works engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 228 horsepower. The JCW car is all-wheel drive, and the two larger engines offer a choice between a six-speed manual and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard. EPA-estimated fuel economy is listed at 25 mpg city/34 mpg highway for the base engine (25/35 with automatic) and 24/34 (22/32 with automatic) for the 2.0-liter, 189-horsepower four-cylinder.Available features include heated front seats, fog lamps, navigation, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, spoiler, premium audio, head-up display, and satellite radio.Available safety features include rearview camera, park assist, stability control, and dual-front, front-side, driver- and passenger-knee and side-curtain airbags.The base price for the 2017 MINI Clubman is $24,100.
