The hatchback version is called the Versa Note, and new for 2017 the Note gets refreshed styling, while both the Versa sedan and Note add new special-edition packages.Both have a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 109 horsepower and pairs to either a five-speed manual transmission or a continuously-variable automatic transmission (CVT). The Note is only available with the CVT. The Versa and Versa Note are both front-wheel drive, and EPA-estimated fuel economy is listed at 27 mpg city/36 mpg highway for the Versa sedan with the five-speed manual and 31/39 for both the sedan and hatchback with CVT.The Versa is available in S, S Plus, SV, and SL, while the Note is available in S Plus, SV, SR, and SL trims. Available features include fog lamps, satellite radio, navigation, Bluetooth, and cruise control.Available safety features include rear-view camera, stability control, traction control, and dual-front, front-side and side-curtain airbags.The base price for the 2017 Nissan Versa is $11,990, excluding destination and dealer fees.
