2020 Buick Encore GX: The Buick Encore GX is a new model for 2020. Slightly larger than the current Buick Encore, it is a compact crossover that seats 5 passengers and is only available as a 4-door wagon. Competitors include the Chevy Trailblazer, Ford EcoSport, Honda HR-V, Kia Niro, Mazda CX-3 and Nissan Rogue Sport.
The Encore GX will come with one of two turbocharged 3-cylinder engines. The base engine is 1.2-liters while the optional engine displaces 1.3-liters. The 1.3-liter engines offers 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque. With front-drive, both engines will come with a standard CVT automatic. All-wheel drive models get a 9-speed automatic transmission. The AWD models will also have a disable switch, giving drivers the choice between AWD, when more traction is needed, or FWD, for improved fuel-economy when conditions allow.
Available driver-assist technology includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rearview camera with cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights. Pricing has not been revealed.
