2020 Kia Optima: The Kia Optima sees the addition of forward collision avoidance-assist with pedestrian detection as a standard feature for 2020. Optima is a midsize car that seats 5 passengers and is only offered as a 4-door sedan. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants are available. Competitors include the Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, and Hyundai Sonata.

Only front-wheel-drive is offered. Six trims are offered: LX, S, S Panoramic Roof, EX, EX Premium, and SX. There are four engines available: A 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes 178 horsepower, a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder that makes 185 horsepower, and a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes 245 horsepower. The hybrid combines an electric motor with the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine for 192 total system horsepower (202 in the plug-in hybrid). The plug-in hybrid offers an estimated electric driving range of 28 miles.

Available driver-assist technology includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rearview camera with cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights. Pricing ranges from $23,000 to $37,000.
