2021 Ford Bronco: Reviving a name after more than two decades, the Bronco is a new off-road-ready offering from Ford. With removable roof panels and doors and a true off-road 4-wheel-drive system, the Bronco is aimed squarely at the wildly popular Jeep Wrangler. Bronco is offered in 2- and 4-door bodystyles and comes with a myriad of off-road goodies designed to please even the most hard-core mudder. Competitors include the aforementioned Wrangler, Land Rover Defender and Toyota 4Runner.
Seven trim levels will be offered when the Bronco goes on sale in the summer of 2021. They include Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak and First Edition. All are available with either bodystyle and come standard with a 4-wheel-drive system with a low range. Most models come standard with a turbocharged 2.3-liter 4-cylinder that makes 270 horsepower. Standard on the Wildtrak and First Edition and optional on others is a turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 that makes 310 horsepower. The 4-cylinder comes with either a 7-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission and the V6 is available only with the 10-speed auto shifter.
Every Bronco comes standard with the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of advanced safety features. Co-Pilot360 includes forward-collision warning with brake intervention, lane-keeping assist and blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. Bronco is equipped with Ford’s latest Sync4 infotainment system that includes wireless support for Android Auto and Apple Car Play. The interior features available floor drains and marine-grade vinyl seating surfaces. Prices start at $28,500 and climb to more than $56,000.
