2021 Honda CR-V: Honda's best-selling compact crossover, the CR-V seats 5 passengers and is offered only as a 4-door wagon. Getting a mild makeover and a new hybrid model last year, CR-V sees little change for 2021. Competitors include the Ford Escape, Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Cherokee, Kia Sorento, Mazda CX-5, Nissan Rogue, Toyota RAV4 and Volkswagen Tiguan.

Front-wheel drive is standard with all-wheel drive being optional. There are four trims available: LX, EX, EX-L, and Touring. Gas models get a turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder that makes 190 horsepower and pairs to a continuously variable automatic transmission. Hybrids utilize a 2.0-liter four-cylinder combined with an electric motor and continuously variable automatic to produce 212 total horsepower.

Available driver-assist technology includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rearview camera with cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights. Pricing ranges from $26,000-$35,000.
