2021 Kia Soul: The Soul is a compact car that seats 5 passengers and is only offered as a 4-door wagon. After a full redesign in 2020, Soul stands pat for 2021. Competitors include the Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-30 and Mini Cooper .

Despite the wagon bodystyle and tall design, Soul is front-wheel-drive only. Trim levels include LX, X-Line, GT-Line, S, EX, and Turbo. Most models come with a 147-horsepower 2.0-liter 4-cylinder with either a 6-speed manual or continuously variable automatic transmission. Turbo comes with a turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder that makes 201 horsepower and mates to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. 

Available driver-assist technology includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rearview camera with cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights. Pricing ranges from $20,000 to $29,000.
