2021 Nissan Maxima: The Maxima is an upscale midsize car that seats 5 passengers and is only offered as a front-drive, 4-door sedan. Maxima was last restyled in 2015 and carries over into 2021 with little change save the introduction of a 40th Anniversary Edition. Competitors include the Acura TLX, Chevrolet Malibu, Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, Kia K5, Mazda 6, Toyota Camry and Volkswagen Passat.
Trims include SV, SR and Platinum. All get a 3.5-liter V6 that makes 300 horsepower paired to a continuously variable automatic transmission. The new 40th Anniversary Edition incldues two-tone paint, unique interior and exterior trim, premium leather upholstery and heated rear seats.
Available driver-assist technology includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rearview camera with cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights. Pricing ranges from $39,000 to $45,000.
