2021 Volkswagen Tiguan: Tiguan is a compact crossover that seats up to 7 passengers and is only available as a 4-door wagon. It was most recently restyled in 2018 and carries over into 2021 with minor changes. It is one of the few compact crossovers that offers 3 rows of seats. Competitors include the Chevrolet Equinox, Ford Escape, Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Mazda CX-5, Mitsubishi Outlander, Subaru Forester and Toyota RAV4.

Front-wheel drive is standard with all-wheel drive being optional. There are five trims available: S, SE, SE R-Line Black, SEL, and SEL Premium R-Line. Sole powertrain is a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that makes 184 horsepower and mates to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Towing capacity is rated at 1,500 pounds.

Available driver-assist technology includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rearview camera with cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights. Pricing ranges from $26,000 to $41,000.
