2021 Jeep Wagoneer: Going deep into the archives to revive a revered nameplate, Jeep brings back the Wagoneer for 2022. Like its predecessor, Wagoneer is a large SUV. Passenger capacity is 7 or 8 depending on seating configuration and, despite its luxury trappings, It will be a true off-road capable vehicle. Competing against the Chevrolet Tahoe, Ford Expedition, Nissan Armada and Toyota Sequoia, Wagoneer will be the largest vehicle in the Jeep lineup.

Sporting the same exterior dimensions, Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer models will be offered. Wagoneer launches with a 392-horspower 5.7-liter V8. Grand Wagoneer gets a 6.4-liter V6 that produces 471 horsepower. Both engines mate to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Rear- and 4-wheel drive configurations will be offered. Buyers can choose between the single-speed Quadra-Trac I, low-range-equipped Quadra-Trac II and full-on Quadra-Drive II. Wagoneer will also feature Quadra-Lift air suspension and Selec-Terrain, which allows drivers to choose pre-programmed off-road modes.

Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer is loaded with tech features including 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, digital rear-view camera, head-up display, massaging front seats, ventilated second-row seats, four-zone automatic climate control, a backseat camera system and an imitation suede headliner. A 10.1- or 12-inch touchscreen controls the Uconnect 5 infotainment system that now supports over-the-air updates and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There’s even a 10.25-inch screen available for front-seat passengers.

Standard safety features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, front and rear automatic braking and lane-centering assist. Also offered are a night vision camera that can detect pedestrians and animals up to 219 yards away and an Intersection Collision Assist feature will automatically hit the brakes if it detects a vehicle coming across your path in an intersection. Finally, later in the year, Grand Wagoneer will debut a hands-free driving system. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer should be available in dealerships early next year.
