Shelby GT 350
While Ford, per se, didn't have a press conference at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show, an unusual occurrence; nearby Shelby American Inc. took the occasion to intro the 2012 Shelby GT 350 convertible, based as usual on the Ford Mustang. On hand to answer questions at the show were Shelby American, Inc. VP of Sales & Marketing Gary Patterson and President John T. Luft. Celebrating the 45th anniversary of the GT 350 convertible, the new edition features several revisions from the 2011 GT350. Available are two versions of the 5-liter Coyote V-8 with natural aspiration, or supercharging, the latter ranging from 525 to 624 horsepower. Front styling and hood design are revised for 2012. Taillights and rear styling is also changed with a salute to the 1967-68 Shelby Mustangs. Exterior color choices for the coupe or convertible include Race Red, Performance White or Kona Blue. Only 350 will be built. The 2012 Shelby GT350 continues the passion, ingenuity and energy of Carroll Shelby and his team of hot rodders.
