Hyundai i20 WRC

HYUNDAI i20 WRC: Hyundai racing fans have a treat waiting for them at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show.  On display is the Hyundai i20 WRC that is based on the production model of the Hyundai “i20” edition.  A unique rear wing and front spoiler improve cooling and definitely give the i20 WRC a new external appearance. Under the bodywork, improvements have also been made to the suspension kinematics and chassis stiffness. The hand built i20 WRC is four-wheel drive, ultra-performance competition car stripped out, strengthened and tuned extensively in all areas. The structure is an FIA-conformant reinforced steel and composite fiber body with welded multi-point roll cage. A special Hyundai Motorsport turbocharged engine with direct injection develops 300 –horsepower and comes linked with a sequential six-speed sequential gearbox. When needed, the ventilated Brembo disc brakes with air-cooled four-piston calipers bring the 2,999-pound i20 WRC to a quick halt. Inside is a custom Magneti Marelli dashboard, Sabelt seats and Sabelt multiple fixing points belts with adjustable straps. The vehicle uses Shell Helix-Ultra lubrications, and rolls on Michelin Pilot Sport for tarmac, A41 for snow/ice tarmac, X-Ice North for ice/snow gravel and Latitude Cross for gravel.
