2018 Ford Mustang: The 2018 Ford Mustang is redesigned, adding new features along with new looks and a newly-available 10-speed automatic transmission. It also no longer offers a V6 engine option. The iconic Mustang will continue to compete with the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger in the two-door sports-car class also known as the "pony-car" class.The Mustang will continue to offer a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and a 5.0-liter V8, but the V6 has been dropped. Ford claims the four-cylinder will have more torque and the V8 will have more horsepower and torque, but numbers haven't been released yet. Both engines will be available with a six-speed manual transmission or a new 10-speed automatic transmission, and the Mustang will remain rear-wheel drive.Available features will include a customizable instrument cluster, a setting that remembers each driver's driving preferences, Ford's Sync multimedia system, a smartphone app for remote control of select vehicle functions, heated steering wheel, magnetic-ride suspension, LED headlamps and tail lamps, and a 12-inch LCD screen.Available safety features will include pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, distance-alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, driver-alert system, and dual-front airbags.The 2018 Ford Mustang will go on sale this fall.
