2020 Ford Escape: The Ford Escape is all-new for 2020. The compact crossover sees new styling inside and out, along with new entertainment and safety tech offerings. Escape is a compact crossover that seats 5 passengers an is only available as a 4-door wagon. A hybrid model is also available and for the first time ever a new plug-in hybrid too. The all-new model is wider, longer, and sits lower than the outgoing Escape. Competitors include the Chevrolet Equinox, Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5 and Jeep Renegade.

Front-wheel drive is standard with all-wheel-drive being optional. Five trims are available: S, SE, SE Sport, SEL and Titanium. Three different engines are available: A 1.5-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder that makes 180 horsepower, a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes 250 horsepower, a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder hybrid that makes 198 horsepower, and a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder plug-in hybrid that makes 209 horsepower. Turbocharged engines pair to an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the hybrids use an electronic continuously variable transmission (ECVT). Maximum towing capacity is rated at 3,500 pounds.

Available driver-assist technology includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rearview camera with cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights. Pricing ranges from approx. $25,000 to $35,000.
