2019 Volkswagen Golf: The Volkswagen Golf remains unchanged for 2020. The Golf is a compact car that seats 5 passengers and is only available as a 4-door hatchback. An electric variant called the e-Golf is also available, as well as a sporty variant called the GTI. Competitors include the Mazda 3 hatchback, Subaru WRX, Hyundai Veloster, and Honda Civic Sport.

One front-wheel-drive is available. One trim is offered: Value Edition. Three engines are offered: A 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes 147 horsepower and a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes 228 in the GTI. There is a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission available. The e-Golf uses an electric motor paired to a 35.8-kWh battery that delivers 134 horsepower and an estimated driving range of 125 miles.

Available driver-assist technology includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rearview camera with cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights. Pricing ranges from $31,000 to $39,000.
