2021 Chevrolet Corvette: The first-ever mid-engine Corvette carries over into 2021 with a few new colors and packages. Dubbed C8, which stands for the eighth-generation of the famous American sports car born in 1953, the new Corvette moved its engine from the front to the middle to provide better balance and handling dynamics. New colors for 2021 include silver flare metallic and red mist metallic tintcoat. Full-length dual racing stripes (in various colors) and cool gray or strike yellow interior is also now available. As before, the 2-seat Corvette Stingray seats is available as a 2-door coupe and 2-door convertible. Competitors include the Acura NSX, Audi R8, Nissan GT-R, and Porsche 911.
Three trims are available: 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT. An available Z51 Performance Package includes a performance suspension, brakes, axle ratio, exhaust, electronic limited-slip differential and more. Sole powertrain option for the rear-wheel-drive-only Corvette is a 6.2-liter V8 that produces 490 horsepower that pairs to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. According to Chevrolet, the Stingray has a zero to 60 time of 2.8 seconds and can run the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 122 mph.
The Corvette includes a front and rear trunk for a total of 12.6 cubic feet of cargo volume,. Inside, a standard 8-inch touchscreen offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support along with an available enhanced navigation with 3-D view. Drivers face a 12-inch reconfigurable digital instrument display that incorporates all driver information and features in three distinct themes. Three variations of seats are also available. Available driver-assist technology includes rearview vision camera with front curb view, heads-up display, rear cross traffic alert, rear park assist, side blind zone alert, and active handling stability control with traction control.
