2021 Lincoln Aviator: The Aviator is a midsize, three-row SUV that seats 6 or 7 passengers and is available only as a 4-door wagon. Both gas and plug-in hybrid variants are available. Completely new in 2020, Aviator sees little change for 2021. Competitors include the Range Rover Velar, Mercedes-Benz GLE, and BMW X5.

Rear-wheel-drive is standard with all-wheel-drive being optional. There are four trims: Standard, Reserve, Grand Touring and Black Label. All gas models get a a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that produces 400 horsepower. Aviator hybrid is only offered on the Grand Touring. It gets the same turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 but pairs it with an electric motor for a combined output of 494 horsepower. Both engines mate to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Maximum towing capacity is rated at 6,700 pounds.

Available driver-assist technology includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rearview camera with cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights. Pricing ranges from $56,000 to $90,000.
