Lotus Evora GT

2021 Lotus Evora GT: The Evora GT continues a legacy of British high-performance sports car that spans back decades. The Evora GT is a rear-drive sports coupe powered by a turbocharged V6 engine. It was introduced in 2010 and is, in a way, stuck in time. While rivals such as the Acura NSX, Chevrolet Corvette, and Porsche 911 have moved away from their pure sports-car roots and offer the latest conveniences such as adaptive cruise control and in-car Wi-Fi, the Evora keeps going with its driver-focused, no-frills design.

Power comes from a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 422 horsepower. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic. The chassis is lightweight aluminum with epoxy bonds and rivets for extra stiffness. Suspension is forged aluminum double wishbone front and rear with Elbach tubular anti-roll bars. Lotus claims a 0 to 60 MPH time of 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 188 MPH.

Evora GT is available in both 2-seat and 2+2 configurations. In order to maintain its svelte 3,100-pound curb weight, Evora comes with a titanium exhaust system, Bilstein dampers, forged-aluminum wheels and cross-drilled brake discs. Standard carbon-composite components include the rear bumper, curved A-panels, rear wheel ducts and sill covers. The optional Carbon Pack includes the front access panel, roof panel, a one-piece louvered tailgate with integrated spoiler and diffuser surround all in carbon fiber contributing to the mass reduction by 49 lbs (22 kg). Pricing starts just north of $110,000.
