2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport: Atlas Cross Sport is a midsize crossover that seats 5 passengers and is available only as a 4-door wagon.  It was all-new for 2020, with the stylish Atlas variant ushering a new segment of coupe-like crossovers for VW in the U.S. For 2021, changes are minimal and include wider availability of VW's upgraded infotainment system and additional driver aids. Competitors include the Chevrolet Blazer, Ford Edge, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Hyundai Santa Fe, Mazda CX-5 and Nissan Murano.

Front-wheel drive is standard with four-wheel drive being optional. Eight trims are available: S, SE, SE w Tech, SE w Tech R-Line, SEL, SEL R-Line, SEL Premium, and SEL Premium R-Line. Two engines are offered: A 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes 235 horsepower and a 3.6-liter V6 that makes 276 horsepower. Both pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Maximum towing capacity is rated at 5,000 pounds.

Available driver-assist technology includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rearview camera with cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights. Pricing has yet to be announced.
